Digits zeroes and ones in Computer

The Process

It has been our intention to have a code source for our site that can be rendered similarly in a wider range of browsers. To do so, we have relied only on general rules of CSS (mainly CSS1) that are applicable in all of the major browsers.

As familiar, Internet Explorer, IE, has been for years considered as the black sheep. We have used 'conditional comments' in our codes in order to deal with both IE7 and the earlier versions.

The introduction of IE8 was a huge improvement towards the compatibility with other browsers. IE9 is a big step for Microsoft regarding the CSS3 compatibility, new design and features. There are, however, some cases where IE9 (CSS3 and HTML5 apart) is less compatible than IE8. IE9, for example, renders a much heavier 'font-weight' for headings which may result in a line break. Therefore, we had still to use few hacks for IE9.

On the other hand, we have not experienced any major problem with IE8. Apple Safari and Google Chrome have got their own unexpected behaviors in some cases as well. If all other browsers had the same capability as Firefox, this website could have been built more functional and attractive.

WebCreationTips.com has been tested in Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Opera and Windows Vista IE7, IE8 and IE9. Based on our humble experience during this project, we have found Firefox to be the most relatively advanced and flexible browser.
